Group and centre-based activities provide participants with opportunities to meet people, develop skills and enjoy meaningful experiences in a welcoming social environment. Activities can be designed around different interests, abilities and personal goals.

Participants may take part in recreational activities, creative programs, games, cooking, music, learning activities, social outings or other suitable group experiences. Programs can encourage participants to try new activities while receiving appropriate assistance from support workers.

Group activities can be particularly valuable for developing communication, cooperation and social confidence. Spending time with others provides opportunities to make connections, practise interpersonal skills and become more comfortable participating in shared activities.

Most importantly, activities should be enjoyable, inclusive and meaningful to the people taking part. Our aim is to create positive experiences where participants feel welcomed and respected while building confidence, friendships, independence and a stronger connection with their community.
